From your old site's WordPress Administration Panel:

  1. Select the "Tools" panel, then "Export"
  2. "All content" will be exported unless you choose a different option
  3. Click "Download export file"
    • The .xml file will be named (sitename).wordpress.(date).xml

  3. Click "Export Settings File"

  3. Browse your computer for the (sitename).wordpress.(date).xml file that you exported, then click "Upload file and Import"
  4. Assign an author name to your posts
  5. Check "Download and import file attachments"
  6. Click "Submit"

From your new site's WordPress Administration Panel:

  1. Select the "PageLines" panel, then "Account"
  2. Select the "Import-Export" tab
  3. Leave all of the import options checked
  4. Browse your computer for the PageLines-PageLines-Settings-(date).dat file that you exported, then click "Import Settings to Install"




Now the majority of your old site will appear on your new site just the way you had it. Note that the links to the following images will transfer to your new site, however the actual image files will remain on the original server:

  • Custom logo
  • Favicon Image
  • Background Image
  • Login Page Image
  • Apple Touch Image
  • Footer Logo
  • Callout Image
  • Highlight Splash Image

If your old server will no longer be hosting these images, you will need to upload each one to your new site.

All of your plugins will need to be transferred over as well, as well as any database tables associated with them.
