PageLines installs in the same way a theme installs on WordPress. You can install PageLines directly through WordPress or via FTP to your hosting server if you prefer.

You must be using the self hosted version of WordPress available through http://www.WordPress.org. Many hosting providers will offer this version of WordPress as a one click install through their services.

What to do Before You Install & Activate

If you are migrating your site from PlatformPro or another theme, follow these steps. If you are building a brand new site, skip to Install & Activate PageLines

1. Back up your database
2. Copy any custom CSS, functions, sections, etc into a text editor
3. Move all of your widgets to the "inactive" area (Appearance -> Widgets)

How to Install & Activate PageLines

There are two different ways to install PageLines.

Install & Activate PageLines Via WordPress

1. Download PageLines from your LaunchPad Account.
2. Login to your WordPress Administration Panel.
3. Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
4. Select Install Themes and select Upload.
5. Browse your computer to select your PageLines .zip file.
6. Click Install Now and WordPress will work its magic and install PageLines.
7. Login to your WordPress Admin Panel goto Appearance > Themes
8. Activate PageLines

Install & Activate PageLines Via FTP

You might want to use your FTP client to install PageLines. If you do not have an FTP client you can use something like FileZilla. Now that you have a file uploading monster on your side capable of striking fear in the hearts of urban populations everywhere, here is how you install PageLines through FTP.

1. Download PageLines from your LaunchPad Account.
2. Unzip the files somewhere on your computer, preferably somewhere you can find them later.
3. Open your FTP Client and access your host web server
4. On your web server goto your WordPress directory and then navigate to wp-content/themes.
5. Upload the entire theme file to your web server so your directory will be wp-content/themes/pagelines
6. Login to your WordPress admin panel and go to Appearance > Themes
7. Activate PageLines

What to do After You Install & Activate

(If migrating):

1. Reestablish your Wordpress menus (Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus) and save
2. Move all of your widgets back to the desired locations (Appearance -> Widgets)
3. Visit each tab of the PageLines menu and adjust the settings to your liking (don't forget to enter your account info too!)
4. Paste your custom CSS, functions, and other items that you copied earlier. See How to Use the PageLines Customize Plugin for more information
