Porter was built for photographers wanting to show posts in style. It features a full width featured image, with expandable posts, a custom comment system, Pinterest hover effects, and so much more.

Features

Posts Control tell Porter what posts you want to show, and from where. You have control over the number of posts, as well as sources including categories, tags, authors, and post types.

Full Width Features set a featured image at least 1600×400 and watch as Porter displays that featured image at 100% width.

Expandable Posts cut out all that scrolling jazz, and put focus back on the posts. Automatically expand each post revealing the images and commenting system.

Custom Comment System tired of seeing that plain ‘ol comment system? Porter has a completely custom comment system with a custom comment form.

Social Counting System Porter counts the number of Twitter and Facebook Shares and calculates a total to be displayed along top of the comment count.

Pinterest Infused your visitors can instantly pin single images across to Pinterest making your images that much more viral. By default all images added to a post will have a “Pinit” button that shows when you hover over the image. This can also be turned off.

Right-Click Image Protection photographers love this, and can be enabled by toggling a box.

Viewer Support Porter works great together with Viewer. If Viewer is active, Porter will provide special support to make sure it works great within posts.

@kedarkf you are logged in as admin, you will see the comment regardless. Are you seeing this when you are logged out?

@kedark I am using this same section on my personal site and comments dont show up unless they are approved, and if you have that setting set that way. I think you are seeing it because you are logged in as admin which is normal. I just need to add a tag there to say its waiting moderation.

P.S - Please post all future topics on the forum http://www.pagelines.com/forum/forum/70-products-by-nick-haskins/

@nphaskins@kedarkThat's right, and now you can test how adding more, or will be approved before the appearance.

Anyway, thanks for listening, something just does not work for me here, and the plug is so great that I wish it would be to give up.

Honestly the best, thanks for your patience, and I hope your new plug-in.

@kedark I have a made a test here locally. Here, I have added a comment, and as you can see the comment is NOT appearing:

http://screencast.com/t/cCNx6GUuRd

Here you can see the comment, awaiting moderation:

http://screencast.com/t/wUg0gG9Dfm

Now, I have approved the comment, and it appears:

http://screencast.com/t/PVcR0KQ986a0

As you can see I cannot reproduce a bug of "comments needing moderation are shown despite your settings." You are basically saying that, theres a bug with the way wordpress handles comments with moderation. Porter isn't doing anything with the comments at all, its' all WP functions like get_comments, etc.

Hi, the author's intention was to automatically post comments without having to confirm the system (even if it is enabled), It works like this at a time when there is already a confirmed comment. If you comment on the page was not confirmed - well, it waits for confirmation in the system. Regards Kedark

 @kedark I'm a little confused on what you mean exactly?

kedark
kedark

 @nphaskins in wordpress enabled to confirm comments before publication, porter on: if you have previously been confirmed by any comment, a new not waiting for confirmation on the system, once it is published ... Kedark

nphaskins

 @kedark I want to provide the best help but I'm afraid I'm even more confused now than I was before.  All of these settings are in Wordpress under General-->Discussion.

 @nphaskins porter on the need to login to comment, so I can not show you. I will try to make an example for the new installation and check it out. Thanks for your help - because for me, unfortunately, this happens (can comment without logging in) Regards

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @kedark I have this same section running on my personal website, and comments are not automatically approved unless you have that checked in wordpress.

You actually have to specify args to return different comments based on status. There are NO args built into this, which means it will return only approved comments.

kedark
kedark

 @nphaskins Please check if you have previously been approved by any comment, the next will be published in the comments field without waiting for the confirmation ..

In the first comment is all right.

Asked only to check,I love this plugin and I write not as a result of complaints in relation to the observed error. Kedark

 @kedark I still don't understand what you're talking about. Porter is fetching approved comments. It won't show the comments if they aren't approved.

When I click purchase button, and I choose the payments metod, the script ask me to selct product which I'm buing.

On the shop list there is only PageLines Framework - Developer. :-/ Why?

I have standard Framework. Is it dedicated to developer only?

 @MarcinMydlarski Hi, sorry about the troubles. I unfortunately don't handle any of this :(, so you'll need to email hello@pagelines.com

Hi Nick,

First GREAT JOB! Looks awesome. When I look at your demo (in Firefox 18.0, Safari 5.1 and Chrome 24.0 on a Mac) I see in the notes 2 white scrollbars ( a vertical and horizontal one) even with only comment displayed. See screencap. Is this normal? Should it not hide itself when not necessary?

Thank you in advance for your kind reply

K:)

nphaskins

 @kwitelle That's a slight bug should only show scrollbar on vertical when needed. Will patch that up soon.

Hi Nick, you will be sorry to hear I've purchased some more of your code. :-) Porter and Viewer don't seem to be getting along. Viewer isn't launching in a Porter post with a [gallery] tag (images are uploaded to that post) and there is no Pinterest icon showing. I've probably not set up my Pagelines drag and drop correctly for Porter, as there is no guidance documentation? I'm assuming Porter is in the driving seat, so posting here and not under Viewer. http://www.mywebtest1.co.uk/blog/

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @flidget I would try re-saving the settings to re-compile the CSS. All the CSS for Viewer seems to be missing.

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskins

 Done. No change. What should I try next? Note that I've never seen Viewer work, I only purchased it for use with Porter - so I've never tested Viewer stand alone. Also, the Pinterest Icon is not showing so there is more than one issue.

flidget

 @nphaskins

Deleted Viewer, Porter, Trickle. Confirmed delete via FTP.

The Results:

Viewer: Added "content" back into Blog Page template using Drag and Drop. WordPress Gallery displayed ok. FTPed v1.0.5 and Activated Viewer via WordPress Plugins - Viewer launched, but with issues... 1) Controls at bottom for Full screen etc. White on White. Full screen displayed, but an embedded video at the bottom of the post (Animoto) displayed on top of the full screen image. Otherwise looks to be working. (IE10)

Porter: FTPed v1.0.1 then Pagelines>Store>Sections>Activate. Pagelines>Drag&Drop> Removed "Content" from Blog Page Template, added Porter. Refresh Blog page. Porter displays ok. Click "Open Post". Not working. Viewer broken, WordPress Gallery broken. (IE10 and Safari).

Trickle: FTPed v1.0.6 then  Pagelines>Store>Sections>Activate. Pagelines>Drag&Drop>Template 1>Page Template Trickle already back in the active sections. Reload page - all Trickle slots look to be working with default images. Pagelines>Page Options>Trickle - Select Sections Panel, Trickle Icon missing. Click blank Icon. Trickle displayed all slots empty. Set each Slot for 10 images, Activate all slots for links, Save options. Re-populate all slots with 10 images from Media Gallery and links (very boring). Save Options. Select Sections Panel, Trickle Icon now showing.Reload Page... Not working. All images display flowing down the page, links active, Only Slot A rotating at full size in IE10 and Slot a size in Safari. (IE10 and Safari)

In summary, right back where I started with Porter not showing either the Viewer or the WordPress gallery and Trickle not working either.

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskins

 Ok. I'll delete Porter (which is working fine) and Viewer. Then FTP and check all is gone. Then download the latest and FTP the files directly - Viewer first and then if working, Porter second. Should I do the same for Trickle whilst I'm at it?

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @flidget I would then try to re-install Viewer, or re-download and manually upload the files, as maybe something was corrupt during install.  Viewer works by itself, as does Porter. And Porter and Viewer both work together as well. If this isn't the case something else could be interfering.

Porter runs a check to see if Viewer is activated, and if it's activated then it goes through and does some extra things to provide support. None of those things are showing up.

I've tested here, and online, and I can't get it to not work.

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskins

 Also, this is just a test site so ultimately I can blat the lot and start over with the latest, not upgrade version of everything. Happy to try anything. I so much want these things to work.

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskins

 I can send you screenshots showing it's activated both in Pagelines and Wordpress. So, I'm thinking that's not so useful. How about I deactivate and delete Porter and try to just use viewer. Will Pagelines deactivate and delete remove all and any influence of Porter - or is it not so simple?

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @flidget Is Viewer working on other pages? If the plugin was activated, the script at the top of your page would change and would show different code, and the CSS would be loading. Since neither of these things are showing, it's leading me to believe that the plugin has either been renamed, or isn't active.

flidget
flidget

Sorry, let me re-phrase.

You don't mention that the use of Viewer is mutually exclusive with the Pinterest functionality. However, now you point it out I can understand why, given Viewer doesn't list it as a function. NP.

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @flidget Viewer does not remove the functionality. Insert an image, by itself, in order to have the Pinterest button activated.

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskins

You don't mention that the use of Viewer removes the Pinterest functionality - or did I miss that in the list of features?

flidget
flidget

 @nphaskinsYes, I do have viewer activated. Why would I not have activated it?

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @flidget There isn't more than one issue. The pinterest only works with images inserted straight into the post. Your images are in a gallery shortcode, that Viewer is supposed to be picking up, but its not.

This section has built in support for Viewer.

Like I said your css isn't loading. Do you even have Viewer activated?

Hi, great section Pagelines.I apologize in advance for this question that I ask in the comments on the forum but nothing I could find.PORTER translated plug but I can not find the phrase "open post" and "close post". Please help, in which the file should be changed.Great job, I use many of your plugins, I wish you many new ideas for new!Regards, R.

nphaskins

 @kedark Hi, I actually responded to that thread in the forum. It's because in this design, those phrases are done through pseudo elements in CSS. So probably can't be translated.

Hi, I love this new plugin, it gives a lot of possibilities. However, once installed, something is not working. After some time and many attempts it turned out that it does not work properly with Looks Like Tumblr. Might be able to do something about it. Sincerely, I am very impressed with your work.

nphaskins
nphaskins

 @kedark Actually on second thought, I see what's going on. Looks Like Tumblr was one of my earliest sections so I did not namespace like I should have. I'll have a fix for this out within the next 24 hours.

kedark

 @nphaskins Thank you, one way or another is a great plugin! I've been waiting for something like this! Regards

 @kedark I just released an update to Looks Like Tumblr that completely resolves these conflicts. My apologies for the inconvenience.
