Live DemoScreenshots Changelog

Flip Slide; a 3D multi-themed slider section.

This isn’t just your run of the mill slider section; it’s the first PageLines slider section to incorporate awesome 3D transforms. Flip Slide includes 14 different transitions with flipping cubes, sliding panels, multiple themes, options for captions, and so much more. Get out with the old, and get in on the Flip Slide.

Features

2D & 3D Transitions Select from one of over 14 differnet 2D & 3D transitions. Note: some of the 3D transitions like the cube use 3D Transforms, and aren’t available on IE and Opera. A fade transition is available for those retro browsers.

Navigation Control You decide how to navigate and control the display! Choose from thumbnails, or arrow type navigation. Create a beautiful slideshow by setting Slideshow Mode to ‘on’, and choosing no navigation.

Themes The default (none chosen) theme will match whatever background color you’ve set on your site. So will the navigation. However, there’s a ‘Dark’, and ‘Light’ theme available as well. Test these with differnet background colors and images to get that perfect effect.

Captions You can optionally display a caption and you can even use real HTML! You can also specify where the caption should be placed, and also the width of the caption.

note: some of these transitions are not available on older browsers, but does degrade gracefully for browsers that do not support these transition (I’m looking at you IE and Opera).

Clean & Simple Gallery

Oct 16, 2012 by Dustin Faddis

This gallery is easy to edit and specialize. The one condition I find limiting is the use of both vertical & horizontal sized images. It will display them perfectly, but the skin and white space between thumbnails is effected.
As Nick communicated to me in an email,
"This section (and most of the sections in core like Quickslider) just work best with images of the same height. There is one section, Response Gallery, that does a better job at handling vertical images as a photo gallery, as it uses an entirely different script so it dynamically resizes the vertical images."

Nonetheless, I like this section and use it.

As I understand it, this is basically an image viewer/slider. There's no content/text/links in each "flipper", right?

What I came looking for is a section that keeps the visitor on-page / same-area of the same page that can include content in each section. For example, first item says "Welcome. <button>I'm a buyer</button> <button>I'm a seller</button>" They click "I'm a buyer" and it goes to 'flipper2' or whatever you call it. Then on flipper2, they see text and buttons like "<button>Submit contact form</button> <button>Tell me more first</button>" and they link to flipper4 and flipper5. And it basically goes from flipper to flipper but stays all on the same page/area of the page.

I tried interlinking on Tabber but 1) the links didn't work and 2) I don't want them to see the hierarchy of content, just the content specific to their clicks.

I hope all that makes sense and maybe you can update this to do that or make a new section with those ideas in mind. I think it'd be pretty cool and good UX.

Thanks, Nick.

@Clifford P Each slide can have a caption, and you can choose the location of the caption. Each slides image can be linked. You can't put a form inside this section, it's a simple image flipping slide section with captions.

First off, thank you, thank you for developing such an awesome section tool! This is beautiful. The best gallery I've seen.  And, a super contribution to my site!   I am trying to fine tune the layout...

I am looking to have a more unified Skin border where both images "Fit to Frame" without showing so much excess white space between the First Image and thumbnails below.  Sizing my images in 72dpi and same px is not working.

1) Do you have any suggestions on how to make both image types (Vertical & Horizontal) proportionately "fit to frame" without showing so much white space between the First image and the thumbnails below? (Both of my image heights are set to 435px, but they make the Flip Slide skin border more Vertical than Horizontal.

In other words, I want the Slide Image & Thumbnails to be visible on the page without having to scroll down to see the thumbnails...much like my slider and instagram photos on my Home page.  I see that I can set the max width, but that reduces the size of the Slide image.

3) You state on your demo page, "...skins available if you want to extend it to match your site a bit more."  How are these obtained?

If anyone other than Nick knows these solutions, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Dustin
