I'm wondering if there is a way to do the following:
When a visitor clicks the "More" button in my feature slider, instead of opening a new page, the page just scrolls down to the blog post's location.

You can make a link that jumps to any element with an id, which all posts do have. For example:
To make it animate you need to use javascript.
