After adding a lot of menus to my site, I started to get "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 141" errors each time I added a menu item. So far, that was only annoying, because after reloading the menu page, the new menu item was there after all.
Now I want to delete a menu item, and now I do have a problem. I'm getting the error message again, but this time the menu item I wanted to delete is still there...

Well, I found the culprit. It's the WPML language plugin. If I temporary disable that plugin, I can change the menus.
