I got this error after changing my permalinks structure. Now the entire theme is broken. Changing the permalinks back to default or to any other structure for that matter is not working :-(

Funny thing, the answer just came to me:
Changing the permalink structure changed the contents of my .htaccess file (I don't even know how or why). My web host does not yet provide PHP5 by default (UGH) so I upgraded it through the .htaccess file. After I changed the permalink structure I just had to re-upload the PHP5 .htaccess file and the site was restored to normal and the permalink structure was also how I set it.
I came back to post this just in case someone else had the same problem as I did :-)

We appreciate you sharing that, Ivo. And, glad you got it figured out!
