I need to hide a page and some child-pages from the navigation bar. How can i do this?

There are 2 options for this:

1. Manually create your own menu only showing what you want from:

Appearance > Menus

2. Use a plugin, go to:

Plugins > Add New

and search, install and activate the plugin: Exclude Pages From Menu - this will give you the option when editing any page to uncheck a box to not show in the menu.
