Hi I am interested in my home page including the carousel, boxes and other features already included. Also, I would like to add recent posts, or featured posts (recent posts that I have specifically chosen to be 'featured' on the home page). What would you recommend? Perhaps I am missing an easy way to do this. Under WP Options ('Reading'), it seems it is just one way or the other. Thanks.

The Show Post Shortcode plugin works for me. I have a static home page, so after setting it up, I drop the i.e. [ showposts category="1" num="5"] Shortcode where I want the list.

I'm only displaying a list from one category, not sure if you can have two feeds into one [ showposts]. But anyway, if you want to display from multiple categories that just use several instances of [ showposts} I guess.
