Hi all,
Just updated PlatformPro to 1.0.9 and installed the latest version of the base theme.
The previous issues appear to be solved, however, I have come across a new bug I would like to bring to your attention.
When the base theme is activated, the carousel no longer seems to support the nextgen gallery option. When I enable the nextgen plugin under the carousel image mode, the following error appears on the page where the carousel should be.
Rendering of template gallery-plcarousel.php failed
Just thought I would bring that to your attention.

OK, to fix this you'll need to copy the 'nggallery' folder out of PlatformPro, and paste it in your child theme.
NextGen is looking for that folder in the child theme.
