So I have my blog, and I have the summary of all of the posts...

 

Is there a way to have an image to the left... or even the right side of the summary

to spice the look of the blog up a bit?

Yes there is, you can use a Wordpress feature called Feature Thumbnail image. See here for information -

Once you have added your image, you can use the settings in Blog & Post, to position the image.
