I am posting articles on my site by authors other than myself. Is there a way to let them also get an email notification when someone comments on the post?

If these authors are registered users on your site, they should be able to get comment notifications as long as they allow it in their Discussion settings:

Ok, so I thought this might do it but can't seem to get past the first hurdle. I will try and make my problem a little clearer.
I am the administrator of the site and as such I am posting all the articles even though I am not the author of these articles. Because I am posting them, I get the email notifications for comments made etc which is fine but I would also like to be able to set it up that the author themselves also gets notification. How can I set up a post to have multiple authors or people to send notifications to?

I'm not sure, but this is more of a WordPress-related issue. You may want to try this plugin:

Thanks Catrina, yes you are right the answer lies in wordpress. You made me think differentyly and then it was easy to sort out. Just had to create the authors as users and then could select them as the author on the post settings. I as admin would then also get an email alert.
