I know all about responsive design, but I really need a good mobile app option for PageLines.  I'm currently using WPTouch Pro and it's not cutting it.

 

Can you let us know if there are any options soon to be released?  

 

There has to be more people than me wanting this.

The purpose of responsive design is to remove the need for a mobile app. What is it you find lacking in responsive design ?

I develop websites for dentists.  When a user is looking for a dentist on a mobile device, they are looking for a very specific need- either the user has a dental emergency (sever pain or broken tooth) or they need directions to the office.

 

The problem with responsive design- for my clients- is that we don't need all that content on the mobile site.  We need the basics:

1. Contact Info
2. Office Hours
3. Easy Navigation
4. Request Appointment
5. Google Map

Not a 300 word, image-heavy site like we have for the default desktop site.

Hi there, I've not used any of these personally but clients have mentioned http://wordpress.org...ss-mobile-pack/ and http://wordpress.org...lugins/wptouch/ previously. They'll be more available at the wp codex. We'll leave this thread open in case any other users have suggestions for you :-)

Thanks James!  I've been using WPTouch Pro for about a year.  I'm sorta like "ehh" with WPT.  It's kinda cumbersome and something about it I just don't like.

 

But I'll check out the WP Mobile Pack.
