Right now my site (

) has a logo in the upper right corner of the page, and a couple of social icons in the far right. 

 

I'd like to use that white space for something more productive (like a rotating banner or a quotation or well, ANYTHING). But I am not really sure how to do it. 

 

Related question: is it possible to do this on just one or two pages of my site, say have one type of header for the majority of pages, and another type for the rest?

Hi Jennifer,

 

There are several options for this, depending on what you hope to put there:

The Business Branding Section (a premium product) allows you to place contact information into this area.

The premium, but inexpensive Hooker plugin lets you apply a hook using pasted code (great for ads, images, etc.).  It works perfectly with the free Action Map plugin (which identifies the hook in the location you seek to use).

PageLines Customize plugin has a functions.php (as does any of our child themes) that may be modified to include a hook (again, using Action Map)

Hooks are not difficult at all, but the Hooker plugin makes adding them incredibly easy.
