Hi there,
is anybody able to give me some pointers on sorting out this problem?... Our site is at www.coedforestgarden.co.uk. It displays fine in FF, Chrome, Opera...etc...but gets more than a little whacked out in IE.
Cheers.

Hi,
The issue is caused by having Internet Explorer compatibility mode active, disable this and your issue should be resolved.

Can you please post a screenshot? I don't have access to IE so I cannot see what the site looks like.

Based on using: http://netrenderer.com/index.php You're using a slider that doesn't work with ie 9. It looks like you're using "flexslider"... Is there an upgrade available if so? If not, try using a different featured slider, such as pageline's native featured slider.

Hi,
If I'm not mistaken, your slider is our Quickslider which shows up in HTML as Flexslider. It looks fine on IE9 on my Windows based machine.
Can you be more specific about what's happening in IE?

Hi all,
It is the quickslider from the free version of pagelines. I have another site that I have built in a very similar way (nothing complicated as my understanding of it is not great), that has no problems.
The problems that I'm experiencing are loss of style on the font; colour, size etc. The page content expanding the full width and the side bar dropping off to the bottom of the page, and all images displaying at an unedited size..i.e. way to big.
Here's some screen shots :

Cheers

Hi Danny,
thanks that's definately made a big difference to the layout, all's pretty much normal now. However the images are still at the wrong sizes. I think they're displaying at the maximum they can for the amount of content space, rather than the size set when they were placed using the media library. Any ideas?

Media settings don't determine the size of feature images in the slider. You'll need to resize the images (so they're the size they're supposed to be) and save them then upload them again. I measured the slider for you and determined that your images should be at least 1070px wide.

Hi Catrina,
it's not the slider images, they're all at the size I uploaded them at.
It's images within posts and pages that are screwy.
Thanks

Internet Explorer doesn't like the way WordPress scales or resizes images, so it rejects any media size change options in adding any images in posts or pages.
The only cure is to manually resize them to the size you desire using a graphics editor.

Hi there!
i'm sorry to bump into the conversation to "put wood in the fire", but i'm facing exactly the same prob.
What surprises me is that this malfunction is somewhat recent. I am positive it has worked properly in the recent past in the same IE and computer where I detected now the malfunction, thus the surprise a few days ago when I faced this problem...
does anyone have any idea of why the difference now?
