Is there a way to add padding/margin to the callout box? 

 

I've tried the following but they have no affect.

 

.callout_action {padding: 15px;}
.callout_head {padding-top: 50px;}
.callout_text-pad {padding-top: 50px;}
.callout-area_media_fix_with-callsub {padding: 25px;}

Well, these changes you specified seem to appear.  Perhaps if you clear your browser cache or if you have a cache plugin, clearing that cache might help you see the changes?

We were able to add padding to left but not above the header (callout_head).

If something else in the css declarations is preventing it higher up in the hierarchy try forcing it using
