I am attempting to upgrading from Platform 1.4.1 to Pageline 2.3.8 with an install of wordpress 3.4.2. and once I activate the theme my previous posted content is displayed without any theme layout. See wigmag.com for results. I have followed all instructions provided about upgrading. I have removed all widgets and plugins. Twice I have deleted the theme, obtained a new download and installed the pageline theme with the same results. In an email exchange with support, they think it might be caused by a permissions issue, but provide no clue to what files or direcctories that would be. The server I'm running it on is using PHP version 5.2.10, MySQL version 5.0.51.

Your permalinks are not working.
Go to wordpress settings, set to default, click save.

Thanks Simon. That got the template to display correctly but now I'm not able remove or add items via drag and drop from the templates. For example I can't remove the slide above the blog posts.

You may have some plugins breaking the backend javascript, try deactivating til you find the offender.

Simon, I can drag and drop but nothing changes on the live site. For example, I have a page "Home" which is set to use Template1, Under drag and drop I have removed all items from the active sections, however, the image slider still remains on the Home page. If I add or remove anything the Home page does not update with changes made.

The home page is set to blog.
So if you want to remove the quickslider, on the drag n drop elect the content area, then blog and remove the quickslider.

Ok. I see that this is where it is been set to display, but what I don't understand is why if I have my Home page set to use Template1 that its actually using the Blog Template. Am I missing something here? Is it because I don't have the site set to be static?

No you have it set to display blog posts so it uses the 'blog' template.

Simon, can you clarify "you have it set to display blog posts", where in the admin is this set? I thought when I setup a page called "Home" and set the tempate setting to use Template1, that that would be the template being display on the home page of the site.

Simon, Thanks for your help. I still don't understand why the home page is set to the blog template and not to Template1. Is this becuause the site is not static? If I change the site to being static would it then use the default template or Template1?
Thanks for the help.

look under wordpress settings => reading, its either a blog type page or a static page.
