Hi all,

 

First off, I really like how easy Pagelines is to use and configure - I'm creating my soon-to-be-blog pretty easily!

 

I have a quesiton - I would like to move the Twitterbar from the Morefoot to Sibedar1, but I cannot see where to do this - does anyone know how this can be done?

Trevor, we're up to 2.3.8 as of today, so perhaps an update is in order.

 

If you go to Dashboard > PageLines > Store > Sections > Top Free, you'll see Twitter Bar. You can implement that very easily in the sidebar by just dragging the widget it creates from Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets in the Available Widgets area into the sidebar that you have in SB1, presumably Primary.

 

The section will list the last three tweets from your site.

 

The actual Twitter bar cannot be included in the sidebar.

 

We also offer a premium section " Twitter All-In-One" also works pretty well.

Hi Egg - that's too bad because I like the neatness and tidiness of the included twitterbar.  Does the one you suggest display the same way?

All of these seem to be really good options, but not as tidy as the twitterbar in Pagelines natively.  Is it possible, at all, to move it higher on the page?  Perhaps just above the navbar?

Trevor, depending on which option you use, and how it's applied, you may be able to insert something you like below the NavBar or right above the Content.  It really depends on how it's implemented and what available sidebars you have.

Hi Rob,

 

Is there no way to simply move the twitterbar included with Pagelines to right above/on-top-of the navbar?  Perhaps there is some custom code or something that would be able to do this?  I reason that if it can be located in the Morefoot section then it should be able to be located anywhere on the page regardless of whether Pagelines' UI allows for it.  This is a fairly serious design detail for my site and design wins over code every time.

The margin-top property in CSS can be used to move it all the way up.

Hi Catrina,

 

I conceptually "get" CSS, but haven't done very much editing at all.  I'm alright doing it carefully, however.  I have to do things like this myself being an solo entrepreneur.

 

If you have the time, could you give me a basic walk-through?  I would be most grateful!

Hi Catrina - thanks, but the first link has no content and I don't know where to begin with the information in the second link.

What CSS file/file(s) are you referring to?  What am I trying to do by editing them?

However, I wouldn't advise moving this section from the morefoot into the sidebar with css, if you're sites responsive you could get some strange results on mobile devices. Using a twitter plugins in the sidebar and styling to match the layout of the twitterbar might be an easier option.

 

The section you're wanting to move isn't a widget and therefore wouldn't go inside the sidebar without some serious customization. You can suggest this as an update for future editions here -
