it is possible display article in multiple colums on the startpage (like this here )
second: how i can edit the fontsize and box border ... of the elements?

If you use a plugin called you can set up three boxes, side-by-side. This would probably look best in full-width mode (no sidebars), since the boxes tend to look better when they have width.
Unfortunately, WordPress doesn't allow magazine mode (two columns of content) to be expanded to 3 columns. There are some older plugins that can create columns, but I'm not sure they'll continue working with future WP updates as they're already outdated.

but WP-Boxer is not responsive... but the pagelines boxes are... any fixes around this?

Hi,
Is the article going to be static or are you wanting to display content that is going to be dynamic i.e. post ?
If its going to be static, meaning that the content is not going to change, then I would recommend you use the PageLines Grid.
