Ok - I'm almost done with the questions
How can I shrink the space between the content and the call out button?

You'll need to shrink the space by either reducing the top padding for the call out section or the bottom padding for the content area. Please see this documentation on how to do so:

I checked that out and tried: .content {padding-bottom: 2px;} but no dice.
