I set up my site two years ago on Station - decided I wanted to add a forum and it eventually led me to loading up PageLines...which I really like.

Going through the tutorial, talking about templates, I realized that my site (which is mostly a blog, some content pages and sidebar gizmos) doesn't have a static home page - my main page is just my latest blog entries. No defined Home Page and no defined Blog Page.

It's worked well enough so far, but how do I set up a template for it in PageLines? And if I do set up a static home page at this point, how do I tell it to show my blog entries and set it up as the main page visitors reach when they hit my site? Is this in PageLines or in WordPress?

Okay. There are six pre-defined and customizable page templates found in Dashboard > PageLines > Drag & Drop. These include Default and Template 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Create a static page. Select a template (right side), then go to Drag & Drop and modify the elements you have on the Page Template and Content Area.

You can create some great static pages that way, and add shortcodes for unique things you'd like to add.

Save the page and then create another, called blog, but in this one, don't include anything at all in the edit field. Only use sections like banners, boxes, sliders. Save it.

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading and set your Frontpage and Blog page under Static pages.

You can be called "Home" "FrontPage" or as you like, the name is not important.

The name doesn't matter, more for tagging for you. Once you select the page as your static front page in General > Settings > Reading it will appear as www.yourpage.com instead of www.yourpage.com/somepage
