I'm trying to create a feature slide above my nav bar next to a static image, really a quick slider. It seems quick sliders are not allowed in the header above the nav bar. Can I accomplish this as a feature, and how to I go about putting it next to a static image (one box)?

If you need to add a feature slider to the header, you'll need to use a third party solution like a plugin from To implement it, you may need to use a hook, which is explained here: www.pagelines.com/wiki/PageLines_Themes

As you yourself point out, you cannot add the quickslider to the header. There's no plugin for that.
Catrina didn't suggest implementing a universal or full-width sidebar in the header, then using our shortcode based slider. I'm not sure you can put anything along-side it though. See this link:
Also, if you go to Dashboard > PageLines > Drag & Drop while on Header scroll down and look on the right. You'll see Features are indeed available for the Header section. So is Twinshot and Response Gallery, both premium sliders available with PageLines Plus or for purchase from our Store.

I remember seeing a short code for features. Is there a way to float that next to an image in a full width box?

Hi... there's a shortcode based slider found here:
But dumb question.. if all you need is a single slide, couldn't you just add an image to any text widget?

You can do use the PageLines Grid, in one column add the Carousel shortcode and in other use HTML for a static image.
You can get more information regarding the Grid here -
