And I've already been directed to
So what I want to know is whether I should learn CSS or CSS3.

Thank you!

Hi,
If you are new to CSS, then learning CSS would be in my opinion the best place to start. Then move on to CSS3 and its new techniques, I think it would be best to learn the basics first.

CSS3 won't make much sense unless you first understand the basics of CSS. I too would start there, and go through as much as you can before you start out! Make a few test documents in CSS and HTML then move on to the more difficult stuff!
