Change Author Section Photo Without Using Gravatar

Is there a way to change the author photo in the author section of the blog. I guess it can probably be done using gravatar.com, but I'm trying to avoid using it. Here's an example:

Hi,

As far as I am aware the Post Author section only supports the Gravatar service. Why do you wish to avoid Gravatar ?
