Hi,

I am having trouble understanding why, when using the editor, the content doesn't stack properly?

When doing it in the VISUAL window, the content does not stack properly which makes it hard to visual layout a basic page.

When using HTML, it looks perfect except that the actual final page doesn't have the last row of images followed by the content properly rendering.

I have attached three jpgs showing Visual - HTML - rendered page.

This happens on every page of the site which makes it a nightmare to edit the content.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you adjusting the Image properties at all? (The image properties can be viewed by pointing to the top left corner of the image and clicking on the icon of the picture frame)

I have tried adjusting the image properties and not adjusting them.
Nothing makes a difference.
It happens on every page of the site.

I've actually never experienced this with WP.
Normally, a carriage return is one line and two returns gets you two lines of space.

Your code has each of the three lower images daisy-chained, back-to-back, without a break. They're going to sit side-by-side, rather than stacking one-over-the-other.

Instead, try placing each one on its own line and if necessary, include a <br /> here and there to get them aligned. They don't naturally stack in the way you've added the code. This, by the way, is a WordPress issue, not caused by PageLines.

HI thanks for the response.
I actually do want them side by side.
It's getting the content to flow after it that is the problem.

It's actually a problem throughout the site.
What happens in the visual editor does not replicate on the page.
I've never had this problem with WP before on all the sites I've built.

Even adding a <br> after the images does not force the copy below the images.
The copy ends up hanging right before going underneath the images.
Happens all over the site.

HI,

Unfortunately, the editor on Wordpress is very poor and switching between the Visual and HTML editor can cause all sorts of issues with your HTML. Therefore, if you wish to use HTML, I highly recommend you disable the Visual Editor completely.

PageLines does nothing to the Wordpress editor and therefore, this is a Wordpress related issue, if you search Google for Wordpress editor issue, you will find quite a few.

Also, why are you not taking advantage of the PageLInes grid for your images, you can use this to properly align your images.

I just took over this site for a new client and am trying to clean things up.
Lots of extra code put in to deal with layout challenges they have had.
I want to get it so they can use the visual editor without glitches.

The one thing I have noticed is that if my browser is full screen (25 inch monitor) the content in the visual editor wraps UP.
If I scale my browser in, the content moves back down to where it belongs.
This doesn't happen on any other client sites. It's very odd.

So, being that I am trying to figure out your very robust (and complicated) theme....what are grids?

Additionally, we use LESS and Compiled CSS, which can at times cause issues on servers with insufficient resources. We recommend 128Mb dedicated to PHP resources. I also recommend using MaxCDN to ensure that you have most of the major processes run off-site. That may resolve some display issues.

Honestly, there is something wrong within the editor that I have never experienced in all my client WP installs and with different themes.

I would like to set up a demo site and do a fresh clean install of WP and Pagelines to see that fixes it?
More so, would I need another Auth Code to do that or can I use the current one?
Or is one needed at all?

I appreciate that, however something is messed up and I need to figure out what it is.

OMG

After doing a clean install elsewhere, the same issues were there.
It was only after rebuilding a page from scratch that I figured out what was causing the grief for me and the client.
It was the smallest detail - right in front of me all of the time!!!
DOH!

Every image on the site was put in as such

Every image has AlignLeft assigned to it.
Which means any content after it will wrap up around the image!
