I previously upgraded to 2.2.1 but when tried to upgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.2.5; it was unsuccessful. I believe the site is essentially widget free so widget order should not seem to the a problem. Wondering whether I can safely try to go to 2.3.

Hi there, as of the last update the widget area became fixed, so from that point onwards no one should experience issues with widgets moving etc.

When you say it was unsuccessful, what happened? We've had no real problems with people upgrading to 2.3 and many minor bugs have been fixed. In saying that every site and every clients hosting is different so always back up fully before attempting an upgrade. It's also a good idea to disable all plugins prior to upgrading too :-)

Thanks. The upgrade failed in that the site crashed and needed to restore a prior version with the host. I will backup, disable plugins and try again.
