Sure enough the best way to change one's fortunes is to rant on a website forum and sure enough, chances are you'll be eating your words.
Why the process was rocky and quite stressful, eventually Jigoshop solved my problems and the site is now working.
I have to say they gave me the support needed to make this happen, and for that I am grateful. But I now have other issues which I'll post seperately.
Specifically, the site is running slowly and I was informed there are a few Pagelines specific issues that are to blame.
1. pagelines compiled css optimization (1.6 seconds)
2. black-linen.png optimization (1.5seconds)
Why is the Pagelines specific CSS loading so slowly. Can I optimized it? Can I remove it entirely and place all that css into Jigoshops frontend.css file?
How can I remove the black-linen.png file. I'm not even using it!

It's a Jigoshop webstore.

What's up with the black-linen.png file. I'm not even using this file! Why is it being loaded?
Thanks for all the outstanding support that Pagelines provides.

Can I edit this or is it dynamically generated?

When a site has insufficient memory resources on the server, anything will slow it down. The only solutions are raising the amount of memory or changing hosting plans to provide more memory resources.
I moved from a VPS shared plan to a dedicated server and have had no errors since. Before, on VPS, I had tons of them. I can honestly say they were not caused by PageLines.

Your point is well taken, however, there is clearly room for improvement. This extra CSS file that pagelines jigoshop plugin creates, can I incorporate that code into Jigoshop's frontend CSS file?
Wouldn't that speed things up?

Jigoshop operates as a totally independent product. It's operating as a plugin within WordPress. PageLines provides an integration for that plugin, which merely wraps the JigoShop into our framework. We do not add new CSS to JigoShop. We don't even support JigoShop; only our integration.
There's tons of info about Jigo's CSS on their forums. I'm not sure, but I do believe our compiled CSS minifies, and includes any CSS it finds, including Jigo's.
Out of curiosity, do you use any CDN? I use MaxCDN and it works wonders to reduce the server load.

Inside the pagelines jigoshop plugin is a css file that gets called on the shop pages:
wp-content/plugins/pagelines-jigoshop/style.css
Apparently this is taking a loooong time to load and slows the shop pages.
I was thinking I could incorporate that code into Jigoshop's frontend.css ???

I'm using Cloudflare.
Did you test or notice an improvement in site speed after signing up with Cloudflare? I ask because I'm considering it with BlueHost.
And, if you are still in the consideration process, I recommend Cart66 and they have a buffer check out page (Mijireh) so everyone is fully protected through checkout. I've been using c66 over a year with no issues. Just began using Mijireh. Nonetheless, keep us posted on your final solutions.
Thanks,
Dustin

That style.css file is taking 1ms to load. Being on a shared host, 3.5s for a website is pretty good.I'm using Cloudflare.

Hi dustin, I haven't checked a before and after with Cloudflare but I was hoping Cloudflare would have made a huge difference and put my concern to rest. Way beyond the consideration stage, the site is going live on monday.

One of their suggestions is:
Minimize redirects
Remove the following redirect chain if possible:
