Just FYI in case anybody else encounters this issue in the meantime, I finally managed to get my code to work for now until the update to PageLines. The key was changing the names of the items starting with highlight_head and ending with _highlight_image_frame.
I was also able to rename the ID somehow too, probably because I changed the names of everything else.
