I really love the post-pins and installed it on my site What I see is the pagespeed is only 44 (!) but the normal score of an average page is around 85. What is causing this issue? And how can I speed this up?
I'm using W3TC but cannot use minify because it breaks my theme. Hope someone can help me out.

Have you tried using something like MaxCDN?

I use W3TC with CDN from Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). I'm able to raise the score to the current Pagespeed Score of 69. A normal page has a Pagespeed Score of 89.

I'm not sure why this is happening, but my best guess is that Post Pins loads content dynamically, which may be counter-intuitive to cached content. Also, it has to pull the entire loop, load thumbs, excerpts, titles, meta data, etc for each post. Remember, with Post Pins, you're loading pretty much everything. I don't use it because my site has tens of thousands of posts... it would take forever.

You may be using a CDN, but the CDN is not compressing scripts.
Also you are scaling images.
