Layout editor not working and layout suddenly changing

There's been a customer in live who had just updated to 2.3.3 and the sidebar suddenly filled the entire screen and pushed the content off the right hand side of the page. Their layout editor also stopping working like in the 2.3.1 bug.

Another customer has just had the same thing happen so could be a possible conflict, I've asked for more info to confirm exactly what they were doing prior to this happening. See this post.
